The Squier line started out in Japan in 1982. First was the JV series which  first intended for the export market but later on were also produced for the domestic market. Then, the SQ series followed which was really for export AFAIK since I seldom see SQ series here in Japan on the used market. Next was the E series from 1984-87. Production went side by side with the A series from 1985-1986. So far, I haven’t seen any Squier produced after the A series. Production was stopped momentarily in the mid ’80s. Then  in the early ’90s Squier was again produced which was called Silver Series. Finally, Squier was ended in the mid’90s.

Personally, I believe that Japanese-made Squier was the golden period of Squier.
